About
Waste to energy in Belize, starting with sargassum.
Sargassum first. Then solid waste. Electricity for the coast visitors come for, and meters that help Belizeans use less.
01
Sargassum first
The seaweed on Belize beaches is the first feedstock.
02
Then solid waste
Household waste feeds the same plant. We do not bury it.
03
Power for Belize
Both streams become electricity for the coast you visit.
04
Behind the meter
Help Belizeans save power and forecast what they use.
About us
Belizeans behind the Mission

What we are trying to do
Build conversion where the waste lands in Belize. Start with sargassum on the beaches visitors come for. Then solid waste. We do not bury it. Add behind-the-meter tools so homes and hotels can save and forecast electricity. Publish what we learn, including what fails.

Fair questions
Is this a finished plant I am funding?
No, and we will not pretend otherwise. Sarrgo is early. Your gift funds the first work in Belize: collection, feedstock testing, behind-the-meter tools, and the pilot that has to prove itself before anything gets built at scale.
Where does my money go?
Into three areas: field and feedstock work, the conversion pilot, and behind-the-meter tools, plus publishing what we learn. We list them plainly above rather than showing a pie chart we cannot yet stand behind.
Why should a visitor to Belize give?
Because the beach you booked is the same beach the sargassum lands on. A gift funds the first collection and conversion work here, sargassum first, then solid waste, so the waste becomes electricity instead of a closed hotel or a hole in the ground.
What is behind-the-meter?
Tools on the building side of the meter. They help Belizean homes and hotels see what they use, forecast the next day, and cut waste. Same project. Different end of the wire.
Will I get a receipt?
Yes. PayPal emails it when your gift goes through. It comes from PayPal, not from a system we built.
Who is behind Sarrgo, and is it tax-deductible?
Our legal status is [LEGAL STATUS: nonprofit or company] and we are based in Belize. Until the legal-status line is filled in on this page, please do not assume your gift is tax-deductible. Write to us and ask.
Why sargassum and solid waste together?
Sargassum is first. It arrives on the tide, in volume, on the coast visitors come for. Solid waste is second, so the plant still runs when the belt is quiet. We do not bury either.
